Anna Dempsey is a Florida-born educator & writer
She is the winner of the Costa Short Story Award and runner up for the Bridport Novel Prize. Her writing has appeared in Popshot, Litro, Dear Damsels, and other lit magazines. She was long-listed for the Curtis Brown Discoveries Prize and highly-commended for the Bath Short Story Award.
She is a graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London’s Children’s Lit and Creative Writing MA Program. Currently, she’s working towards her PhD in Creative Writing/Creative Grieving at Bath Spa University and the University of Bristol, with funding from the SWWDTP.
She has just completed her first novel and is looking for representation.
Anna runs The Grove, a creative writing company in Southeast London offering in-person courses and hosts the Last Call Book Club. She also tutors young people.
